Require the entry of locations and variants

When you use stockkeeping units, it might be important that for every item transaction, users must specify the location and variant for that transaction.

On the Inventory Setup page, you can make locations and variants mandatory as follows:

1. In the Search for Page field, enter inventory setup and select the related link.

2. On the General FastTab, enable the Variant Mandatory if Exists field to make variants mandatory.

3. On the Location FastTab, enable the Location Mandatory field to make locations mandatory.

These setting on the Inventory Setup page apply to all items. If for some items, however, variants shouldn't be mandatory, you can make exceptions on the individual item cards.

On the Item FastTab, you can use the Variant Mandatory if Exists field to overrule the default setting.
