Dual-write solution for Sales
Supply Chain Management can integrate with Sales by using dual-write, resulting in a more streamlined quotation process flow between the systems. This integration simplifies the process, improves productivity, and makes the intended use clearer by connecting sales and supply chain management. Origin indicates the system that originally created the quotation and can only be set upon creation. Ownership indicates the system responsible for processing the quotation through its lifecycle and updating it. Possible values for Ownership are Based on origin, Dynamics 365 Sales, and Supply Chain Management. When the Integrate quotation lifecycles functionality is enabled in Supply Chain Management, the Origin and Ownership fields become visible for quotations. Quotations created in Supply Chain Management have an Origin value of Supply Chain Management, while those created in Sales have an Origin value of Dynamics 365 Sales.
To view origin and ownership information for a sales quotation in Supply Chain Management, navigate to Sales and marketing > Sales quotations > All quotations, find the open quotation to view its details, and review the values in the Origin and Ownership fields in the Quotation creation section of the Sales quotation header FastTab.
Sales also displays origin and ownership information in the Integration section of the Quote page. Additionally, the message area displays informational messages that indicate ownership by Supply Chain Management, informing users that they have limited control over the selected sales quotation and can't perform some actions. No message is displayed for quotations that are owned by Sales.
The Order table is updated with new columns that are visible on the page. In Sales, most of these columns can be seen on the Integration tab. To learn more about how the status columns are mapped, see Set up the mapping for sales order status columns.
The Create Invoice and Cancel Order buttons on the Sales order page are hidden in Sales.
The Sales order status value remains Active to help ensure that changes from Supply Chain Management can flow to the sales order in Sales. To control this behavior, set the default Statecode [Status] value to Active.
