Exercise - Create a new fixed asset subclass

This exercise is written to use the Cronus sample company from the US version of Business Central. You might need to make adjustments to the steps if you use the sample company from your country or region.

Scenario

You're asked to create a new fixed asset subclass, IT-equipment, based on the following details:

  • Code: IT-EQUIP

  • Name: IT-equipment

  • FA Class Code: TANGIBLE

  • Default FA Posting Group: IT-EQUIP

Tasks

Create the new FA subclass.

Steps

  1. Select the Search for page icon in the upper-right corner of the page, enter FA subclasses, and then select the related link.

  2. Select New.

  3. On the new line, fill in the fields as follows:

    1. Code: IT-EQUIP

    2. Name: IT-equipment

    3. FA Class Code: TANGIBLE

    4. Default FA Posting Group: IT-EQUIP

  4. Press the Esc key to close the page.
