Create insurance journal templates
With insurance journals, you can link fixed assets to insurance policies. Before you can use insurance journals, you need to create insurance journal templates.
To set up insurance journal templates, follow these steps:
Select the Search for page icon in the upper-right corner of the page, enter insurance journal templates, and then select the related link.
In the Name field, enter a name, such as INSURANCE.
In the Description field, enter a description, such as Insurance Journal.
In the No. Series field, enter the number series that you want to use to automatically assign a number when you are creating journal lines.
In the Posting No. Series field, enter the number series that you want to use to automatically assign a number when you are posting the journal line. If you leave this field blank, the program uses the number in the Document No. field of the journal line as a posting number. The Source Code field is filled in automatically by the program.
In the Reason Code field, you can enter a code that explains why you are posting transactions through this journal template. This field is not mandatory.
The Increment Batch Name field specifies if batch names that are using this template are automatically incremented. For example, the posting batch that follows BATCH001 is automatically named BATCH002.
To set up insurance journal batches, follow these steps:
On the Insurance Journal Templates page, select the line for which you want to create a new batch and then select Batches.
In the Name field, enter a name, such as DEFAULT.
In the Description field, enter a description, such as Default Journal.
Optionally, you can use specific number series for a batch or use the ones that are assigned for the journal template.
