Before you can use Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to manage projects, you need to set up projects, resources, and time sheets. You can create projects and schedule resources for projects, in addition to managing budgets and tracking machine and employee hours with time sheets.

This module focuses on resources. Resources of a company typically include its employees and equipment. Company resources are typically allocated to projects and are incurred expenses for completing the project. Then, you would invoice a customer for the use of these resources during the process or at completion of that process.

Though a company's resources include its employees and equipment, they could also include other components that are used to complete a project. For example, you could hire another vendor to perform a service that needs to be completed for the project.
