Exercise - Configure a new resource in Business Central

This exercise uses the CRONUS sample company from the US version of Business Central. You might need to adjust the steps if you use the sample company from your country or region.

Scenario

Recently, Juliette Sneath joined CRONUS and will work as a project manager on office decoration projects. You're asked to set up a new resource card with the following information:

  • No. - JULIETTE

  • Base unit of measure - Hour

  • Direct unit cost - 72.00 LCY

  • Indirect cost % - 15

  • Unit price - 130

  • Job title - Project manager

  • Address - 120 Forest Drive, 31772 Atlanta

  • Employment date - 19 April 2020

Tasks

Create a new resource card for the new project manager.

Steps

  1. Select the Search for page icon in the upper-right corner of the page, enter resources, and then select the related link.

  2. Select New.

  3. In the No. field, enter JULIETTE.

  4. In the Name field, enter Juliette Sneath.

  5. In the Type field, select Person.

  6. In the Base Unit of Measure field, enter HOUR.

  7. Expand the Invoicing FastTab and fill in the fields as follows:

    • Direct Unit Cost - 72

    • Indirect Cost % - 15

    • Unit Price - 130

    • Tax Group Code - LABOR

    • Gen. Prod. Posting Group - SERVICES

  8. Expand the Personal Data FastTab and fill in the fields as follows:

    • Job Title - Project Manager

    • Address - 120 Forest Drive

    • City - Atlanta

    • ZIP Code - 31772

    • Employment Date - 04/19/20

  9. Close the Resource Card page.
