AI applications often run as a set of containerized services that must scale quickly, handle bursty traffic, and integrate with Azure networking and observability. Azure Container Apps lets you deploy and operate these services without managing Kubernetes control planes or building custom orchestration layers. This module shows you how to deploy containers to Azure Container Apps and validate deployments using status and logs.

Imagine you're a developer building an AI document-processing backend API. The API accepts uploads, runs text extraction, and calls an embeddings provider to create vectors for downstream search. Your team expects the API to deploy quickly across environments, with configuration changes reviewed like code. Your client also expects you to rotate secrets without rebuilding images and to use a private container registry for production. Latency and reliability matter because upstream systems call the API during interactive workflows. You need visibility into container startup failures and request handling, because failures typically show up first in logs. You also need a deployment pattern that supports safe rollouts, so you can validate a new revision before shifting all traffic. Azure Container Apps helps you meet these requirements by combining a serverless container runtime with revision-based deployments, built-in ingress, and Azure-native management.
