Use the delivery sequence to build your deployment plan
The guide recommends following a sequence from Baseline to Standard to Advanced, depending on your tenant's license configuration. This approach helps you establish a stable foundation before adding more advanced capabilities.
Recommended sequence
- Confirm prerequisites: validate you're a qualified education organization and review Microsoft 365 Education service descriptions.
- Start with Baseline (A1): establish tenant setup, identity approach, core applications, baseline security, and an initial device strategy.
- Add Standard (A3) capabilities (if licensed): extend identity controls, add additional application capabilities, and deepen security/compliance and device features.
- Add Advanced (A5) capabilities (if licensed): implement extended identity protection and advanced security/compliance features.
