Summary
In this module, you explored the components of Power Platform and learned how each helps organizations solve real business problems.
The following summarizes what each product and capability provides:
- Power Apps is a low-code application development platform for building custom canvas apps, model-driven apps, and mobile experiences. It helps makers of all skill levels create tailored tools that connect to hundreds of data sources—including Dataverse—without writing extensive code.
- Power Automate enables organizations to create automated workflows that connect applications, route approvals, process documents, and eliminate repetitive manual tasks. Cloud flows run in response to triggers or on a schedule; desktop flows automate tasks in legacy desktop applications using RPA technology.
- Power Pages is a low-code platform for creating secure, external-facing business websites. Organizations use Power Pages to build customer portals, supplier sites, citizen-facing government forms, and more—all connected to Dataverse and the rest of the Power Platform.
- Dataverse is the cloud-based data platform that serves as the foundation for Power Platform solutions. It provides a single, secure, and scalable location for business data, with built-in security, business logic, and integration with Microsoft 365, Azure, Dynamics 365, and third-party services.
- Copilot Studio is the low-code platform for building custom AI agents that can answer questions, execute actions, and operate autonomously. Agents can be deployed to Teams, Power Pages, and other channels, and can be connected to data and flows across the Power Platform.
- Copilots and generative AI are embedded throughout Power Platform in every major product. These AI capabilities allow makers to describe what they need in natural language and receive generated apps, flows, data models, websites, and reports as starting points for further refinement. AI Builder extends these capabilities with pre-built and custom AI models for document processing, object detection, and predictive analytics.
- Connectors are the integration layer of Power Platform, providing pre-built interfaces to more than 1,800 services. They enable Power Apps and Power Automate to exchange data and trigger actions across Microsoft services, major enterprise platforms, and third-party tools—without custom API development.
- Plan Designer is an AI-powered workspace in Power Apps that transforms a description of a business problem into a comprehensive solution plan. It identifies user roles, proposes the appropriate apps, flows, agents, reports, and Dataverse tables for each role, and generates working starting points for the full solution.
