Introduction

Completed

As a network engineer you will design and implement various solutions to complete your enterprise network. As you deploy and manage the network infrastructure, you will need to monitor and analyze your environment. There are several tools in Azure, such as Azure Monitor and Azure Network Watcher, to monitor and analyze your networks and connected resources to ensure they are in good health and working by design.

Suppose you are the Azure network engineer at a company. You are tasked with diagnosing network connectivity issues of a VM. You need to learn how to troubleshoot and fix the problem so you can establish reliable connections to this VM.

In this module, you will learn about Network Watcher features and Azure Monitor as it relates to Azure networking resources. You will be able to monitor and gain useful insights into the behavior and performance of the services and traffic on your networks.

Learning objectives

In this module, you will:

  • Configure monitoring environment for networking
  • Configure network health alerts and logging by using Azure Monitor
  • Create and configure a Connection Monitor instance
  • Configure and use Traffic Analytics
  • Configure NSG flow logs
  • Enable and configure diagnostic logging
  • Configure Azure Network Watcher

Prerequisites

  • You should have experience with networking concepts, such as IP addressing, Domain Name System (DNS), and routing
  • You should have experience with network connectivity methods, such as VPN or WAN
  • You should have experience with the Azure portal and Azure PowerShell
