Prompts best practices
Use established best practices to create successful prompts and achieve success with Dragon Copilot (physicians). Follow these guidelines to ensure effective use of prompts.
Decide what type of prompt you want to create (ask a question, summarize, create, or edit).
Use natural language, as if speaking to an assistant.
Ensure your prompt includes the four key elements:
Goal: What you want Dragon Copilot to do
Context: Background information the AI should consider
Source: Where the AI should pull the information from
Expectations: Formatting or structure you want in the output
Develop prompts around real workflow needs to maximize usefulness.
If you're asking clinical questions, ensure that Information Assist is enabled and that preferred reference sources are selected.
If a prompt isn't responding, verify that the spoken form is correct, and ensure voice commands follow best practices (clear speech, pauses before and after a command, and so on).
Update and refine prompts over time to improve output and alignment with your workflow.
Prompts unlock a layer of efficiency and customization options. When you apply these best practices, prompts become more powerful tools for your documentation workflow.
