Exercise - How to create an acronym in the Dragon Copilot library

Completed

Organizations often use acronyms for departments, locations, and even names. This lesson shows you how to use a vocabulary entry to have Dragon Copilot (physicians) spell out your acronyms as you dictate.

Note

This unit applies to both Dragon Copilot and DAX Copilot. Available features and functionality might vary based on organizational configuration, language settings, and the platform being used.

Scenario

You work at Contoso Health and you call the main facility Contoso Health Center ("CHC"). Instead of dictating "Contoso Health Center" or manually typing it every time, you identify this acronym as an opportunity to add CHC to your vocabulary.

Follow these steps to create a new vocabulary entry for CHC.

Initial setup

  1. Open Dragon Copilot if it isn't already running.
  2. Go to Settings > Library > Vocabulary.

Set up fields and save

  1. Select New item in the lower right corner.
  2. Change New item to Contoso Health Center.
  3. Add CHC as the spoken form.
  4. Select Save.

Now, every time you use the dictation microphone and say "CHC," Dragon types "Contoso Health Center." Try this exercise with some of your favorite acronyms.
