How to explain and train multilingual encounters
Dragon Copilot supports multilingual clinicians and patients by capturing information in different languages.
Note
This unit applies to both Dragon Copilot and DAX Copilot. Available features and functionality might vary based on organizational configuration, language settings, and the platform being used.
Multilingual functionality
Dragon Copilot includes a recording language toggle that lets clinicians select the language used for an ambient recording. Using the correct recording language helps Dragon Copilot more accurately capture conversations and generate documentation.
When a patient encounter is conducted in a language other than English, clinicians should turn on multilingual recording and select the appropriate language before starting the recording. If the recording language remains set to English, Dragon Copilot might not accurately capture content from conversations conducted in another language.
Tips for learners
Encourage clinicians to:
- Review the languages available in the multilingual recording language list if you regularly see patients who speak a language other than English.
- Enable multilingual recording and select the appropriate language before starting a recording.
- Remember that the selected language applies only to the next recording.
- Speak English while using another recording language when needed.
- Avoid mixing languages within the same sentence, and provide clarifications in English when needed for the best results.
Key takeaway
By teaching clinicians how to use multilingual recording appropriately, you can help them capture patient encounters more accurately, improve documentation quality, and support better patient care.
