Practice scenarios

Completed

Scenario 1: Handoff prep - scan transcripts and draft talking points

Before shift change, a nurse opens the Dragon Copilot app and selects the patient. They scan transcripts from earlier interactions to confirm key details - pain level changes, medications given, and patient concerns. With the help of the quick review, the nurse prepares brief handoff talking points: "Pain increased this afternoon, medication given at 1500, reassessment planned."

Scenario 2: Nurse note – generate, edit, and copy into EHR

After a patient interaction, a nurse generates a nurse note from the recording. The draft includes background conversation that doesn’t belong in documentation. The nurse edits the note to keep only clinically relevant information, adjusts wording to match unit standards, and then copies the final version into the EHR.

Scenario 3: Clinical question – use Information Assist, then verify

During care, a nurse wants to better understand a possible medication side effect mentioned earlier by the patient. They use the Information Assist to review trusted clinical information and confirm what symptoms to monitor. The nurse then uses this information to guide follow‑up assessment and communicate relevant observations to the care team.

Tip

Encourage peer examples: Invite nursing staff to share more scenarios or workflow moments where they used Dragon Copilot to review transcripts, generate summaries, or support communication. Practicing with unit‑specific examples can help reinforce when advanced features are most useful during real care.
