Introduction
Effective nurse champions lead adoption - continuous and sustained use - of Dragon Copilot. This comes from showing peers what consistent Dragon Copilot use looks like in real care. Nursing staff adopt what feels safe, predictable, and worthwhile. Your role is to reduce uncertainty, reinforce expectations, and model effective use in daily practice.
What you own as a nurse champion
You influence adoption through these repeatable actions:
Make expected behaviors visible: Model consistent use during everyday workflows:
- Start recordings at appropriate moments during care.
- Verbalize care clearly using care out loud.
- Review AI-generated output before filing.
Consistency helps normalize Dragon Copilot as part of routine practice.
Make expectations and boundaries clear: Use simple, approved language to reinforce what Dragon Copilot does and doesn't do:
- Helps with: capturing conversations, organizing transcripts, drafting content.
- Doesn't: make clinical decisions, submit documentation, replace judgment.
- Nursing staff responsibility: review accuracy, decide what to document, finalize and submit.
Example: Dragon Copilot may draft documentation from a conversation, but the nursing staff member reviews, edits, and decides what gets filed.
Make adoption feel safe and achievable: Normalize discomfort and encourage small, low-risk steps, such as recording during routine assessments and briefly reviewing output together. Small wins build confidence over time.
Important
Always reinforce that Dragon Copilot produces a draft. Nursing staff remain responsible for reviewing, validating, and deciding what is documented before filing.
