Guide practice scenarios
Help nursing staff build confidence through short, repeatable practice scenarios that reinforce the full workflow from recording to review and documentation. Focus on building the habit - not perfection.
Scenario 1: Routine vitals and pain
Objective: Record a short monologue with units and next steps.
Example: "Temperature 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Oxygen saturation 98% on 2 liters. Pain six out of ten. Medication given. Reassess in 30 minutes."
Scenario 2: One question at a time
Objective: Ask one question, wait for the response, and then continue.
Example: "Where is your pain?"
(Patient response) "Left knee."
"Is it sharp or dull?"
Scenario 3: Sensitive details outside the room
Objective: Give a brief recap away from the bedside.
Example: "Patient anxious and agitated. Declined ambulation."
Scenario 4: Pause and confirm
Objective: Pause, check the transcript, then resume recording.
Example: Pause recording, confirm the last detail (for example, pain level), then continue recording.
Tip
Keep practice simple and inclusive. These scenarios apply to all care team members—use them with any peer to build comfort with care out loud. Short, shared practice builds confidence for everyone.
