Model and coach transcript use
Help nursing staff use the transcript as a quick reference to support safe, confident documentation. Reinforce that the transcript confirms what was said, and nursing staff use it to verify details before documenting according to standard workflow.
When to use the transcript
Use the transcript in specific situations:
- After an interruption
- When a value needs context
- When multiple people are speaking
- During final review to confirm key details when needed
Use the transcript when needed—not every time.
What to model during use
During recording (paused): Open the Transcript tab. Confirm key details, then resume the workflow.
During review: Use the transcript to confirm details only. Only filed content becomes part of the chart. The transcript is visible only to the recording nurse.
Note
Transcript availability might vary. Set expectations based on workflow and environment.
How to position the transcript
- It supports memory—it doesn't replace review
- Use it for quick checks, especially after interruptions
- Focus on key details, not full review
Example: "I can't remember what the patient said."
Coach peers to:
- Open the Transcript tab
- Confirm the response
- Document the relevant detail
- Resume workflow
Tip
Model quick transcript checks during your workflow (for example, "I'll confirm that in the transcript"). This approach shows when and why to use it.
