Dynamics 365 apps are powerful on their own, but they're most valuable when they're connected to the tools and workflows your organization already uses. The Power Platform gives you a low-code foundation for extending what Dynamics 365 can do: automating business processes with Power Automate, building custom UI experiences with Power Apps, surfacing analytics with Power BI, and reaching external users through Power Pages portals. Add Copilot Studio agents for AI-powered conversational experiences, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) to connect your Dynamics 365 data to any MCP-compatible AI client, and you have a full toolkit for meeting almost any stakeholder request without writing custom code.

Because Dynamics 365 Sales, Customer Service, Contact Center, Customer Insights, and Field Service are all built on Dataverse and the Power Platform, they share the same underlying infrastructure. That shared foundation means that the integration patterns you learn in this module apply across all Dynamics 365 model-driven apps, and often across your entire organization.

Throughout this module, you follow Contoso, a global manufacturer running Dynamics 365 apps across its sales, service, marketing, and field operations. Contoso uses the Power Platform to bridge gaps between what their apps do out of the box and what their teams need in practice.

Priya is a functional consultant at Contoso. Stakeholder requests keep arriving on her desk:

  • Sales managers want an AI assistant that summarizes deal history before a customer call.
  • Customer service supervisors want a self-service portal that reduces ticket volume.
  • The marketing operations team wants automated journey triggers when a customer reaches a new lifecycle stage.
  • Field technicians want mobile-friendly work order guidance they can access on-site.

These aren't gaps in Dynamics 365; they're opportunities. Priya's job is to build them.

In this module, you explore the key integration points she uses: embedded Power Automate flows, Power Apps canvas apps and custom pages, Power BI report embedding, Power Pages portals, Copilot Studio agents, and MCP connectivity. The same patterns apply across all Dynamics 365 model-driven apps, so what you learn here scales with your organization's needs.
