In Microsoft Dynamics 365 Project Operations, the schedule board provides an overview of resource availability for resource bookings and assignments.

You can customize the schedule board to tailor its user experience to your needs, such as:

  • Enriching the resource cell information by including custom columns from the bookable resource table.

  • Enhancing the booking template by including extra columns from the project table.

The preceding screenshot shows important elements of a customized schedule board (the following numbers corresponding to numbers in the screenshot):

  1. Schedule board tab - The Initial public view tab is a default schedule board tab that includes all resources and requirements. You can add more schedule board tabs, and you can share a schedule board tab publicly with all users or specified users.

  2. Resource cell - On the schedule board, the resource cells vertically list the resources' names, pictures, and usage. A resource cell displays the information that's related to the bookable resource.

  3. Booking template cell - When a requirement is scheduled to a resource, a booking record is created and displayed on the schedule board during the respective resource's time slot. A booking template displays the columns that are related to the booking of a bookable resource of a project.

In this module, you'll learn how to customize the resource board to provide a tailored user experience to your organization by adding useful information from the related tables. Examples will be provided to demonstrate these concepts.
