Introduction

Most of your week isn't single tasks—it's the coordination between them. Email piles up, your calendar fills, meetings create follow-up work, and somewhere in there you still owe someone a report. Each piece is small, but together they eat the hours you meant to spend on real work.

When you want an answer, you ask. When you want the work done, you delegate: you describe the outcome you're after, Copilot Cowork plans and carries out the steps, and you review and approve along the way. This module puts that habit to work on the coordination tasks that quietly fill your week, so you can hand them off and get your time back.

Chat and Cowork suit different shapes of work. In a chat, you're in the conversation, asking, refining, and thinking something through turn by turn. Cowork is for when you'd rather hand off a whole job: it plans the steps, works across your apps, and hands back something finished—a triaged inbox, a drafted recap, a finished report, a shareable dashboard. It's the same Copilot in both cases; what changes is whether you're steering each turn or delegating the outcome. This module is about that second mode. As you work through it, notice how each scenario hands off a whole job, not just a single step.

In this module, you learn how to:

  • Recognize which work is a good fit to delegate to Cowork, and apply the "describe outcomes, not steps" mindset.
  • Explain how Work IQ grounds Cowork in your mail, files, meetings, and calendar.
  • Triage your inbox and reclaim your calendar with Cowork.
  • Prepare for meetings and follow through across your apps.
  • Produce multi-app deliverables—including reports, decks, and interactive dashboards—from your own work, using research as an input.
