PL-200: Learning Path 3 Create model-driven apps in Power Apps

Learning Path 3 Overview

As you begin to teach this learning path, get familiar with what the students will learn during the learning path. In this learning path students will learn the first steps into building apps for users to interact with starting with a model-driven app for true rapid app delivery on top of the Dataverse layer worked on in previous learning paths. Students will also learn about configuring forms and views as well as charts and dashboards from the Dataverse.

This learning path consists of six modules:

  • Module 1 – Introduction to model-driven apps

  • Module 2 – Design and create model-driven apps

  • Module 3 – Configure forms

  • Module 4 – Configure views

  • Module 5 – Configure charts

  • Module 6 – Configure dashboards

Learning Path 3 Tips and Tricks

  • Explain how model-driven apps are driven by the underlying data structures in Dataverse

  • Clarify the different needs and use cases for model-driven apps, canvas apps, or where one might need Power Pages to develop for external customers/audience

  • Describe Teams integration as a great example of collaboration

Learning Path 3 Demos (optional)

  • Explore the Dataverse features in Make Power Apps Studio

  • Add a custom page to show greater navigation

  • Provide a tour of main form designer

  • Provide a tour of main view designer
