Introduction
Microsoft Copilot isn't a single feature enabled with one setting. In education tenants, Copilot exists as a set of AI experiences that range from free, secure AI chat to fully licensed copilots embedded across Microsoft 365 applications. Copilot Chat is the webgrounded mode of Microsoft 365 Copilot, accessed through the Microsoft 365 Copilot app, and protected by Enterprise Data Protection (EDP) for education tenants.
As a systems integrator, your role is to help the institution understand these options, prepare the tenant so AI operates safely, and enable Copilot in a way that aligns with institutional policy, student age requirements, and data‑protection expectations.
