Math Assistant does much more

Completed

Math Assistant is capable of both complex and simple equations. Let’s examine a scenario of how OneNote might support learners working on a project.

A group of learners finding the mean number of classmates who have pets. Using OneNote, the students track their data and check if their calculations are correct. When they encounter an error or get stuck, Math Assistant shows them the steps needed to find the mean. And when they need help reading the steps, Immersive Reader is there to read them aloud.

Insert and calculate simple math equations in OneNote.

Depending on the numbers you select, the actions for Math Assistant aren't always the same in the menu choices. The options depend on the equation.

  1. Type a list of number, such as 2, 4, 6, 8

  2. Select the numbers and choose Math Assistant.

  3. In the Math Assistant pane, Select an action. There are many options available depending on how you want to support your students.

  4. Select Mean.

  5. The solution is displayed and there's an option to show Solution Steps. The solution steps include the numerical steps and a written explanation.

  6. If you want to revisit this later, use Insert steps on page to add it to the page your page.
