Personalize the learning process

Completed

The math assistant personalizes learning in many ways. A vital part of personalized learning is providing timely feedback specific to learners’ individual needs. By telling learners immediately if a solution is right or wrong, OneNote accelerates the learning process. Learners are empowered to meet their own learning needs and supported throughout the process.

In a Class Notebook, educators see learners working in real time and provide support right on the page. If a learner is struggling with an equation, an educator can quickly insert the steps to the solution on the same page. To meet the individual needs of a learner, an educator may customize the solution or message. This process allows learners to get extra help without feeling embarrassed. Educators can even add audio messages to further personalize the learning process.

Math Assistant using ink

A great feature of Math Assistant is that learners have the option of inking or typing to meet their personal needs. Navigate to the Draw tab in the ribbon.

  1. Choose a pen.
  2. Write an equation.
  3. Select the lasso tool to highlight the equation.
  4. Choose Math Assistant.
  5. OneNote converts the equation to type in the Math Assistant pane. If OneNote doesn’t interpret the writing correctly, it’s easy to fix. Use the lasso tool to select the incorrect part and select the correction.
  6. Choose the dropdown menu and select an action.
  7. The final solution for your action and steps to take are shown.
