Explore coding in the Computing with Minecraft unit
The Agency lesson is a lower primary learning activity that’s part of the Computing with Minecraft unit. Every lesson has an educator guide that connects to the unit overview. Each lesson is structured in the same way. This consistency gives educators the confidence needed to use these materials with their learners. Refer to the video to learn more about the educator guide.
Explore another lesson within the Computing with Minecraft unit to learn more about how educators use the materials to introduce programming concepts to learners.
- Select one of three learning activities:
- Computing with Minecraft: City Planner – Learners learn how creating structures with code may take seconds that would normally take hours to build (if done manually).
- Computing with Minecraft: Parks & Recreation – Learners learn to use loops, build and test a program, and merge math with code to create calculated in-game actions.
- Computing with Minecraft: A Zoo – Learners use loops, code with coordinates, and use the builder functions.
- Review the educator guide for the lesson.
- Open the world and complete at least one of the activities. (The more activities, the better. There’s immense value in completing the entire lesson from the learner’s perspective.)
