Scenario:

You've received the request to create a Dataverse environment for your organization. You have a full Microsoft 365 license, and now you'll need to add the Dataverse environment to the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales application.

Tasks

You'll complete the following tasks in this exercise:

  • Create a Dataverse environment.

  • Install Dynamics 365 Sales.

Steps

Follow these steps to complete the exercise:

  1. Sign in to Power Apps through the Microsoft 365 portal.

  2. In the admin center, in the left navigation pane, select Environments.

  3. Select the environment to which you want to add the database.

  4. Select + Add database.

  5. Enter the following information and then select Add.

    • Language - The default language for this environment. For more information, see Microsoft Dataverse language collations.

    • Currency - The base currency that's used for reporting.

    • Enable Dynamics 365 apps - Select Yes and then select to automatically deploy apps, such as Dynamics 365 Sales and Dynamics 365 Customer Service.

    • Deploy sample apps and data - Select Yes to include sample apps and data. Sample data gives you something to experiment with as you learn.

      Note

      To enable this setting, select No for Enable Dynamics 365 apps.

    • Security group - Select a security group to restrict access to this environment.
