Overview of Microsoft 365 Copilot in Teams calling, meetings, and devices

Completed

With Microsoft 365 Copilot, companies are already discovering the benefits of AI and innovating new ways to work. Today’s employees are overwhelmed with the constant influx of emails, meetings, and notifications, spending an average of two full days every week attending meetings and answering emails.

With Microsoft 365 Copilot in Teams, people can spend more time doing work, rather than managing work. Copilot helps find more ways to be productive in the following areas of Teams.

Microsoft 365 Copilot in Teams chat and channels

Collaborate more efficiently in Teams chat and channels by asking Copilot for relevant information, insights, and suggestions based on your conversations. You can also use this feature to compose content, such as slides, documents, or emails, based on your chat or channel messages.

Copilot can help you quickly digest the information and get up to speed. If a project decision is being discussed, you can ask Copilot to make a table summarizing the proposed solution, who supports or opposes it, and the advantages and disadvantages of the solution – allowing you to get the context you need within seconds.

Quickly get the context you need to move work forward by asking Copilot to:

  • Make a table summarizing proposed solutions
  • Capture who supports and/or opposes an idea or solution that is shared
  • Create a list of the advantages and disadvantages of a decision

Have more effective meetings with real-time summaries, action items, and alignment indicators provided by Copilot. You can also use Copilot to catch up on missed meetings by reading the summary, listening to the highlights, or searching the transcript. Copilot can also help you create meeting follow-ups, such as sending emails, creating tasks, or scheduling next steps.

Intelligent meeting recap with Teams Premium and Copilot

Intelligent recap automatically gives everyone consistent meeting notes and action items – letting you save time by jumping to speaker timeline markers, auto-generated chapters, or topics, Copilot lets you go even deeper.

Seeing the auto-generated summary from intelligent recap, you can ask Copilot more specific, context-based questions to help you understand in greater detail what happened during the meeting. You’ll be able to learn how decisions were made, what questions were unresolved along with the answers for ones that were resolved, discover different perspectives from the group, and even build pro and cons tables based on the discussion.

Facilitator in Microsoft Teams

Facilitator is a collaborative communication agent available to your users in Teams conversations. It combines the power of large language models (LLMs) and Teams data to record notes and help users be productive during collaboration. Stay in the flow of conversation and receive powerful, AI-generated notes within a single workspace. No need for users to switch from reference to reference or app to app.

Use Facilitator in peer-to-peer:

  • Chats
  • Meetings
  • Teams Rooms

Unlike an individual user's queries to Copilot in Teams, Facilitator displays Copilot's notes within the group's conversation. Users can focus on the conversation and let Facilitator take care of the note-taking for everyone.

Facilitator also continuously updates as the conversation progresses. For example, the AI-generated notes display the options being considered by the team and then replace those options with a single choice once the group decides. Now, that's intelligent collaboration right in Teams.

Note

Facilitator is currently in Teams Public preview.

Features in preview might not be complete and could undergo changes before becoming available in the public release. They're provided for evaluation and exploration purposes only.
