Work orders are at the heart of every Field Service operation. Learn how work orders move through their lifecycle, how related records keep service delivery on track, how inventory is managed across warehouses, and how Copilot helps your team work faster.

Learning objectives

By the end of this module, you'll be able to:

  • Describe the work order lifecycle and the status changes that occur at each stage.
  • Create work orders manually and identify when to convert from a case, opportunity, or agreement.
  • Configure work order types, priorities, service territories, and account relationships.
  • Apply incident types to pre-populate work orders with the right products, services, and tasks.
  • Track inventory across warehouses and use adjustments and transfers to keep stock accurate.
  • Use Copilot to summarize work order status, ask natural language questions, and prepare for service visits.
