Formula management process
Before you learn the details of formula management, it's important that you have a high-level overview of the process. Anyone can propose a change request for an item in the engineering company that's associated with the product.
For example, your sales team members can suggest a change to a formula based on client feedback, or perhaps your quality assurance engineers found an issue in a component for a product.
When they suggest their change to the formula, the change request will need to be approved by whoever oversees engineering changes at your company. When the change has been approved, you can make an engineering change order from the request (or you can add the request to an existing change order). When the affected products and necessary product changes have been set up on the order, the change order will need to be approved and then processed. When the order has been processed, the changes to the product will be published in the engineering company. Then, you can use the release product structure functionality to control which legal entities that the new product version will be available in.
