Readiness control
Consider a scenario where you want your quality assurance team to review chemical safety reports of a formula item prior to shipping it to the customer. With engineering change management, you can implement system checks to validate that all product data is entered correctly and completely. You can use readiness checks to validate the master data for a product before it's used in transactions.
You can select the Active check box for an engineering product, variant, or version after all required fields have been entered and validated and all readiness checks have been processed. If any checks haven't been processed, selecting Active will give you a warning prompt that not all checks have been completed.
A System check means that the system will verify whether a valid record exists or not.
In a Manual check, a user will verify whether the record information is valid or not. A readiness check of this type might require a user to verify default order settings prior to shipping a specific product.
In a Checklist, the user will answer a set of questions from a checklist and then the system will verify whether the answers are sufficient. For more information, see Product readiness - Supply Chain Management | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn.
