Your role as a trainer
As a Microsoft Educator Trainer, your role is to plan and deliver inspirational training that helps other educators use technology in teaching and learning, as well as in other areas of school or college life. By becoming part of the Microsoft Educator Training community, you'll be able to access a wide range of support to help you achieve this goal.
The key elements of your role are:
- Evaluate the training needs of the educators you're working with.
- Plan training using the training materials to help provide resources, structure, and objectives.
- Decide if training will be delivered face-to-face, as a webinar, or via self-paced e-learning content.
- Register all training events on the Training Tracker.
- Provide participants you train with the achievement code, generated on the Training Tracker. Encourage all staff to redeem the code as evidence for their own continuing professional development (CPD).
- Support educators to become Microsoft Educators, both through redeeming achievement codes and by taking Microsoft Educator modules and learning paths themselves.
- Join the Microsoft Educator Trainer community on social media to collaborate, to support others, and to find support.
Activities
- Make notes on what you would like to achieve as a Microsoft Educator Trainer.
- Set yourself three goals to achieve as a Microsoft Educator Trainer. These goals can be personal and/or linked with the development plans of the organizations you work with.
- Consider what support you will need to ensure you're able to deliver your training. Do you need the support of the leadership team? Do you need technical support?
