Set up and sync master data across companies
With the master data management function in Business Central, you can sync master data across several companies in the same environment.
You can use the following capabilities to manage master data:
You can subscribe a company to data of another company.
You can define the tables and fields to synchronize. For more control over the synchronization, you can filter on table records. You can also set up more advanced synchronization couplings.
You can use job queues to immediately sync changes to the receiving companies.
You review the synchronization logs in the receiving companies.
You enable the master data management feature from the Master Data Management Setup page, where you can also access the synchronization tables and logs and can initiate synchronizations.
To select the source company and enable data synchronization, follow these steps:
Open the receiving company in Business Central.
Select the Search for page icon in the upper-right corner of the page, enter Master Data Management Setup, and then select the related link.
In the Source Company field, select the company from where you want to sync master data.
Activate the Enable Data Synchronization field.
