Exercise - Sell an item
This exercise uses the CRONUS sample company from the US version of Business Central. You might need to adjust the steps if you use the sample company from your country or region.
Scenario
On April 16, you receive a large order from customer Trey Research for 380 units of the ANTWERP Conference Table item. The customer needs these tables urgently, and because they are in stock in location SOUTH, you decide to create an inventory pick directly from the sales order. After picking the items, you ship them to the customer.
Tasks
Create the sales order and then pick and ship the items.
Steps
Select the Search for page icon in the upper-right corner of the page, enter sales orders, and then select the related link.
In the Customer Name field, select customer Trey Research.
In the Posting Date and Order Date fields, enter 04/16/2020.
On the Lines FastTab, enter a line for item 1920-S.
In the Location Code field, select SOUTH.
In the Quantity field, enter 380.
Select Release > Release.
Select Actions > Warehouse > Create Inventory Put-away/Pick.
Select Create Inv. Pick and then select OK twice.
Select Navigate > Warehouse > Invt. Put-away/Pick Lines.
On the Warehouse Activity List page, select Navigate > Line > Card.
On the Inventory Pick page, select Actions > Functions > Autofill Qty. to Handle.
Select Posting > Post > Ship.
Press the Esc key to return to the sales order and then observe that the Quantity Shipped field now contains 380.
