Lab - Configure address books

Read this first - before you start the lab!

Important

For this lab, you CANNOT sign in with your own credentials. Use the following steps to sign in to your lab environment with the correct credentials.

  1. Ensure that you are signed in to Microsoft Learn.

  2. Select Launch VM mode or Sign in to launch VM mode in this unit.

  3. In the Resources tab on the lab side bar, select the T icon next to Password in the MININT box, to have the administrator password for the Virtual Machine entered for you.

  4. Select Enter.

  5. Microsoft Edge will open. Wait for it to navigate to the Sign in page for finance and operations.

  6. On the Microsoft Sign in page in finance and operations, place your mouse cursor into the Username field.

  7. On the Resources tab of the lab side bar, below the Azure portal heading, select the T icon next to Username, then press Enter.

  8. Your mouse cursor will now be in the Password page.

  9. On the Resources tab of the lab side bar, below the Azure portal heading, select the T icon next to select Password, then press Enter.

  10. Don't stay signed in or store the password on the virtual machine.

  11. Select Accept in the Permissions requested page.

  12. To see the lab instructions, select the Instructions tab on the lab side bar.

You can now begin your work on this lab.

Scenario

As an IT manager in USMF, you need to create an address book and describe the party records for each retail store location. You also need to create a new party and associate the party with an address book. Finally, you need to use this party to create a prospect.

This is done by creating a new record in the Address book and adding this information to a newly created prospect. This lab demonstrates the relationship between people and organizations and how this set up takes place.

  1. Go to Organization administration > Global address book > Address books.
  2. Select New.
  3. In the Name field, enter Denver.
  4. In the Description field, enter Denver Store.
  5. Select Save.
  6. In the Available Teams list, find and select the Safety team.
  7. Select the right arrow to add the Selected Teams.
  8. Select Save.
  9. Go to Common > Common > Global address book.
  10. Select New.
  11. In the Type field, select Person.
  12. In the First name field, enter your first name.
  13. In the Last name field, enter your last name.
  14. In the Address books field, select Denver.
  15. Select Select
  16. Select Save.
  17. Under the Party tab in the New section, select Prospect to view the new prospect information.
  18. Close all pages.
