SharePoint: The app you use without realizing it

Completed

SharePoint is an app many use daily without even realizing it. Each time a document is accessed in Microsoft Teams, it's pulling from SharePoint. SharePoint powers Microsoft Teams.

Every Microsoft Team is backed by a SharePoint team site. Some SharePoint team sites can also be connected to Microsoft Teams, depending on tenant settings and permissions. When opening the Files or Shared tab in a team, the view is a SharePoint document library. SharePoint is great for storing files in the cloud and making them accessible to a broad audience. Educators can take advantage of robust file permission management, document process flows, retention policies, and more offered by SharePoint.

SharePoint has two types of sites: Teams sites and communications sites. Teams sites are used to share information within a team, such as in a class or staff environment. Communications sites are used to widely broadcast information such as a school home page.

SharePoint is an integral part of remote and digital education. In this module, educators learn to use SharePoint to maximize productivity and efficiency while creating engaging experiences for their school community, including staff and learners.
