Smart Impression is an AI-assisted feature in PowerScribe One that creates a draft Impression section based on the content you dictate in a report. The generated draft text reflects patterns in reporting style and helps reduce manual summarization effort.

Where Smart Impression fits in the workflow

In a standard attending reporting workflow:

  • You open a report from the Explorer screen or integrated worklist.
  • You dictate findings and supporting details.
  • You generate and review the draft Impression before finalizing the report.

Smart Impression supports the final stage of report creation by drafting the impression after findings are complete.

Generation modes

Smart Impression supports two modes of use:

  • Manual mode (default): You control when the system generates the draft.
  • Automatic mode: The system generates a draft when you enter the Impression section.

Template and field dependency

Smart Impression depends on the presence and structure of the Impression section in the report:

  • The system inserts generated text into the Impression field of the report template.
  • If multiple fields exist, the system targets the first Impression field.
  • If no Impression field exists, the system creates one.

This behavior aligns with structured reporting workflows and ensures predictable placement of AI-generated content.

User responsibility

Smart Impression produces a draft. You remain responsible for:

  • Verifying clinical accuracy.
  • Editing wording and recommendations.
  • Finalizing the report.
