Fast macro and template creation

Completed

Create AutoText on the fly in PowerScribe One by using voice commands in the Report Editor. This approach reduces workflow interruptions compared to manual navigation into the AutoText manager.

Procedural guidance

Use this workflow to create macros or templates from report text:

  1. Highlight report text.
    • Select the content in the report that you would like to turn into a template or a macro.
  2. Use a voice command.
    • Say macro that to create a macro.
    • Say template that to create a template.
  3. Confirm.
    • The system opens the AutoText Editor with the selected content in the editor window, autofilling the AutoText type as a macro or template based on the spoken command.
    • Add any extra context.
    • Name the AutoText and update other Settings as needed.
    • Select Save.
    • Select the Home tab to continue with the current report.

Best practices

  • Highlight only the content that you want to reuse to avoid extra cleanup.
  • Use macro that for short, repeatable phrases.
  • Use template that for structured report sections or standardized formats.

Applied scenario

While finalizing a report, you dictate a critical communication statement that you expect to use again in future cases, such as, Critical results were communicated directly to Dr. Smith at 14:32 on 06/09/2026. Instead of navigating away from the report, you highlight the statement and say macro that. The system creates a reusable macro from the selected text.
