Smart Search gives you quick access to radiology-focused websites and reference resources so that you can find relevant clinical information, guidelines, and teaching files directly from your reporting workflow.
How Smart Search organizes content
Smart Search groups external resources into structured categories, such as:
- Radiology-specific websites
- Google Book Search
- Medical Imaging Resource Center (MIRC)
This organization helps you quickly select appropriate sources without manually searching multiple sites.
Procedural guidance
Perform a Smart Search during reporting
- Open or begin dictating a report in the Report Editor.
- Choose one of the following methods to launch Smart Search:
- Select the Smart Search button on the toolbar.
- Highlight a word or phrase, then right-click and select Smart Search.
- Use the voice command Smart Search.
- In the Smart Search window, select the search icon (magnifying glass) to begin the search.
- Review results and choose a resource to explore detailed information.
- When finished, close the Smart Search window to return to your report.
Applied scenario
You're dictating a radiology report and encounter a finding that requires confirmation of current imaging guidelines. You highlight the relevant phrase and launch Smart Search from the context menu. Smart Search opens curated radiology resources, where you review guideline recommendations.
You add the validated information directly to your report, then close the Smart Search window and continue dictation without leaving the workflow.
