Route workflow
In PowerScribe One, authorized radiologists review and finalize resident-authored reports before those reports become part of the patient record.
Report lifecycle and roles
- Resident (author): Creates the initial draft or report pending attending signature.
- Attending (reviewer): Reviews the draft, provides feedback, and signs the final report.
- System (workflow engine): Routes reports between users based on status and actions.
Report status and workflow dependencies
- Draft: The resident creates the initial state. Not visible for final reporting.
- Pending Signature: Indicates that the report is ready for the attending to review.
- Final: Indicates that the attending reviews, approves, and signs the report.
Reports move through queues or worklists based on status. These queues help you identify which reports require review. On the Explorer screen, you can access reporting queues below the action buttons. Reports sent for attending review appear in the Pending Signature queue. Depending on your preferences, drafts saved by residents appear in your Draft queue.
Workflow actions
- Open report: Access the resident draft from your assigned queue.
- Edit: Modify findings, impression, or structure as needed.
- Provide feedback: Communicate corrections or teaching points through edits or comments.
- Sign report: Finalize the report and complete the workflow.
The system enforces role-based access. Only users with attending privileges can finalize and sign reports.

Applied scenario
You open your attending Pending Signature queue and identify a preliminary CT report that a resident created. You review the findings and notice that the impression is incomplete. You revise the wording for clarity, apply standard terminology with AutoText, and confirm the clinical accuracy. When the report is ready, you sign it. The system marks the report as Final and removes it from your queue.
