Introduction
After you build an agent in Microsoft Copilot Studio, you publish it to a channel so users can reach it outside the authoring experience. Deploying the agent involves four tasks: choosing how the agent authenticates users, publishing a live version, connecting the channels where people reach it, and deciding who can use it. Together, these tasks determine who reaches the agent, where they reach it, and which version they use.
Suppose you build an agent that answers employees' benefits questions for your HR team. Only employees should be able to use it. Employees need to reach it in Microsoft Teams, in Microsoft Copilot, and on the HR intranet portal. Before the agent reaches all employees, you want a small group of testers to review it on the Copilot Studio demo website.
In this module, you explore:
- How to choose an authentication option and publish an agent
- How to deploy an agent to the Copilot Studio demo website for tester review and to a custom web app
- How to deploy an agent to Teams and Microsoft Copilot and share it with users
Note
This module focuses on agents powered by the GitHub Copilot harness in Microsoft Copilot Studio.
By the end of this module, you'll be able to publish an agent, deploy it to websites, Teams, and Microsoft Copilot, and control who can use it.
