Exercise – Create an engineering change request
This exercise is performed in the USMF company of the Contoso demo dataset in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management.
Scenario
As a production manager, you have determined that the product G0001 that is currently used, must be replaced with a new product, due to a malfunction. To make the request, you will create an engineering change request.
To create an engineering change request, follow these steps:
Go to Engineering change management > Common > Engineering change management > Engineering change requests, and then select New on the Action Pane.
In the Title field, enter Replace G0001.
In the Priority field, select Urgent.
In the Category field, select Change.
In the Severity field, select High.
On the Information FastTab, select New > Note.
In the Notes section, enter Needs to be replaced with a new product due to malfunction.
On the Products FastTab, add product G0001.
Select Save.
In the Change status group, select Approve.
Close the page.
