Math Solver
Math Solver in the Microsoft Edge browser shows learners step-by-step instructions and solutions for advanced math problems such as algebra, trigonometry, and calculus. After solving an equation, there are many options to continue exploring math learning with Math Assistant.
To use Microsoft Math Solver in Microsoft Edge.
- Select the ellipsis (...) button menu. Select More Tools
- The Math Solver button appears in the Microsoft Edge toolbar
- Select or type a math problem in the Math Solver
Step-by-step instructions and solutions
Math Solver not only provides the answer(s) to a math problem. It also shows learners how to solve the problem. Depending on the type of problem, learners can view the solution’s steps in multiple ways and forms, including graphs.
Example: Solving a quadratic equation
- Enter the equations or take a picture of the equations to solve
- View the multiple ways to solve this system of equations, and the steps for each one
- If applicable, graph the equation!
Viewing the steps sometimes isn't enough for all learners. Some may need additional resources to grasp a concept.
Math Solver gives learners additional tools in multiple formats and at all levels, such as:
- Videos from trusted sources, including recommended videos related to the problem being solved

- Similar problems on the web
