Exercise - Add components and constraints to a configuration model
To get the most benefit from this exercise, we recommend that you have the standard sample data available in Supply Chain Management that you can install by using Lifecycle Services.
Add an expression constraint to a product configuration model
To add an expression constraint to a product configuration model, follow these steps:
Expand the Constraints FastTab.
Select Add.
In the Constraints field, select Expression constraint.
Select Create.
In the name field, enter HE Speaker Oak.
Select Save.
Select Edit expression link in the same section.
In the Expression field, enter Implies[FrontGrill != "Metal",!CornerProtection].
Select Validate.
Ensure that no errors occur.
Select Close.
Select OK.
From the Model Action Pane, under the Run sub menu, select Validate. The result should state, "No errors found."
Select Close.
From the Model Action Pane, under the Run sub menu, select Test.
In the Case color field, select Rosewood.
In the Front grill field, select White.
Note
The Corner protection is not available and is set to false.
In the Front grill field, select Metal.
Note
You can set the Corner protection to true or false.
Select Next.
Select OK.
Close all pages.
