Educator review of a Math Progress assignment
Once the learner submits the assignment, the educator can review the submission.
Assignment summary
At the top of the assignment, the educator can find a summary that includes the:
- Grade: the percentage of correctly solved problems
- Point total: the number of points the learner earned for correct responses
- Most frequent rating: how the learner rated most of the questions
The educator can expand the summary to display the breakdown of the:
- Grade by math topic
- The learner's difficulty ratings
Misconceptions
Next, the educator reviews a list of misconceptions. These misconceptions are autodetected based on the incorrect answers the learner submitted. The educator can review which misconceptions the learner demonstrated and how often they occurred during the assignment.
Manually grade a question
If there's a question that can't be automatically graded, thereās an indicator notifying the educator that the question needs review.
The educator manually marks the question as:
- Correct
- Incorrect
- Incomplete
In this case, since the educator is manually scoring the question, they select the misconceptions categories. The educator can also assign partial points for manually scored questions.
Review uploaded work
If the educator turned on Show student work, they can select an image to open it while reviewing a question. Math Progress displays the learner's answer and the image of their work side by side for the educator to review.
Educators can:
- Review the learner's work
- Identify mistakes
- Offer targeted feedback.
By understanding learner misconceptions, the educator can tailor further practice to address specific needs.
