Create Power Apps for student use

Completed

Educators often wish they had more ways to support students with specific challenges observed in the classroom. Sometimes, educators search for a learning support app, only to find that one doesn’t exist. With Power Apps, educators have the opportunity to create their own tools—tailored to their specific needs.

Educators can create apps that provide unique solutions for issues that students experience in their learning journeys—and to support learning, in general. Start by identifying challenges, then explore how using Power Apps can provide a solution.

Power Apps can also be created to gamify learning, providing independent, personalized opportunities for instruction. Gamification in education takes student engagement to a higher level.

Use and integration of technology in fun, effective, and meaningful ways to support learning can lead to increased understanding in all curricular areas. This approach is tailored to align with how students use digital technology in their everyday lives.

Engage students with customized apps

It can sometimes be overwhelming for students to learn new words or a new topic. When students use an app to keep track of high-frequency, new spelling, or key vocabulary words, it can be more manageable for them to recall the meaning of words and use them in context.

With Power Apps, educators can create a customizable vocabulary tool that can be used in almost any curricula area and with any grade level.

The vocabulary app developed in this module provides students with an engaging and motivating method of reviewing vocabulary words. Apps can be edited at any time.

Once the vocabulary app is created, it can be customized to fit particular classroom and student needs, providing opportunities for differentiated learning. Options for customization will be explored later in the module.
