Service learning in the Microsoft MakeCode curriculum
The AP Computer Science Principles Microsoft MakeCode curriculum centers around project-based instruction. Service-learning is a type of project-based learning that connects course content to community problem-solving. The MakeCode curriculum includes a service-learning project in Unit 9.
In Unit 9, students select a sustainable development goal (SDG) and then build a game aligned with the theme of that goal. They drive the project by choosing the goal they'll feature and what type of game they'll create. Play the video to learn more about the service-learning unit.
