Summary
Transfer orders are used to manage and track the movement of inventory from one location to another. When the inventory item is shipped from the source (transfer-from location), it is considered as in transit until it's received at the final destination (transfer-to location). The transfer shipment and the transfer receipt are posted from one transfer order to ensure a stable workflow of such inventory items.
Business Central also offers functionality for tracking where and when items are in transit.
