Exercise - Integrate products

You have a request to integrate products from Business Central to Dynamics 365 Sales so that the sales team can create quotes and orders in Dynamics 365 Sales and then transfer them to Business Central to post an invoice.

Note

In order to complete this exercise, go to Power Apps and use the Sales Trial environment.

Tasks

You'll complete the following tasks in this exercise:

  • Couple the Unit of Measure table.

  • Couple the Products table.

Steps

Follow these steps to complete the exercise:

  1. On the Integration Table Mappings page, run a full synchronization for Item-Product.

  2. In Integration Synch. Job Log, review the list of logs and failed entries.

  3. To enable synchronization, set up the Coupled to Dynamics 365 Sales for Unit of Measure process.

  4. On the Dataverse Coupling Record (unit of measure PCS) page in Business Central:

    1. Select the Create New option.

    2. Select OK.

  5. Repeat the previous step for the other units of measure (BOX, CAN).

  6. Make sure that check marks appear in the Coupled to Dynamics 365 Sales field next to the units of measure (PCS, BOX, and CAN).

  7. On the Integration Table Mappings page, run a full synchronization for the Unit of Measure table.

  8. In Integration Synch. Job Log, review the list of logs and inserted entries.

  9. Check the Dataverse Unit of Measure table to make sure that items were added from the Unit table.

    1. Go to Dataverse.

    2. Go to Tables.

    3. Find Unit of Measure.

    4. Check if the Synchronized Units have been added.

      The three units of measure (BOX, CAN, and PCS) should show as synced to Dataverse.

  10. Set up coupling for Dynamics 365 Sales.

  11. On the Dataverse Coupling Record (item 1896-S) page in Business Central:

    1. Select the Create New option.

    2. Select OK.

  12. Repeat the previous step for the other items (1900-S, 1906-S, 1908-S, and 1920-S).

  13. Check the Dynamics 365 Sales Product table to make sure that items have synced.

  14. Perform a full synchronization. On the Integration Table Mappings page, select Run Full Synchronization for Item-Product.

  15. In Integration Synch. Job Log, review the list of logs and inserted entries.
