Summary
Recurring work used to mean doing the same thing by hand, over and over. Now you set it up once and let it run.
In this module, you learned how to:
- Run a task on its own. Schedule it for a set time, like a briefing every weekday morning, or trigger it on an event, like a reply drafted the moment a key email arrives.
- Build a custom skill. Capture a process or a writing style once, so Cowork works your way every time.
- Extend Cowork with plugins and connectors. When work depends on a system outside Microsoft 365, a connector can bridge the gap.
- Stay in control. By default, Cowork asks before sensitive actions. You decide which approvals to grant, and you can track every task and its output.
It all comes back to two questions: does the work need to run on its own, and does Cowork need to repeat a specific way of working? Once you can answer those, you set up the work once and stop doing it by hand.
