FAQ - Universal Print anywhere

Why is the print option configuration only available when the queue is shared?

Universal Print anywhere virtual queue offers a large fixed collection of print options. This fixed collection of print options can be considered as the equivalent to what a physical printer would report when the printer is registered with Universal Print. The idea to transition configuration of print options that are visible and impacts the user's print experience to the component that is closest to the user.

Will badge / IC card release be supported?

Universal Print anywhere support for different types of secure release is starting with the currently available QR code release using the Microsoft 365 mobile app. As we are able to support additional secure release options in the future, we will annouce them.

Delegated admin support

Management of Universal Print anywhere virtual queue is limited to Printer Administrator role user accounts. Delegated or scoped admins and Printer Technician role user accounts can not manage these virtual queues.

Max 100 Universal Print anywhere queues

The max number of Universal Print anywhere queues that can be created in a tenant is 100.
